Privacy Policy
Version 2 | Effective 1 November 2026
Optimum Testing Pty Ltd (ABN 79 675 799 498) ("we", "us", "our") provides online functional and genetic health testing and nutrition consultations across Australia. We are bound by the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. Because we hold health information in New South Wales, we also comply with the Health Records and Information Privacy Act 2002 (NSW). This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and your rights.
1. WHAT WE COLLECT
- Identity and contact details: name, date of birth, gender, address, email and phone number.
- Health information: your health history, symptoms, goals, medications, supplements, lifestyle information, consultation notes, and laboratory results, including genetic results.
- Payment information: transaction records. Card details are processed by our payment providers and are never stored by us.
- Website information: pages visited and purchases made, collected through our online store and its cookies.
- Communications: emails, messages and forms you send us.
If you apply to work with us, we also collect the information in your application.
We collect most of this directly from you through forms, consultations, emails and our website. We receive test results from the laboratories you authorise us to order through, and, with your consent, information from your GP or other practitioners.
2. WHY WE COLLECT IT
- To arrange your testing and interpret your results.
- To prepare your reports, supplement protocols and recommendations.
- To deliver consultations and communicate with you about your care.
- To process payments and run our business.
- To meet our legal and professional obligations.
- To send you news and offers, if you have agreed to receive them.
If you don't provide the information we ask for, we may not be able to provide our services safely.
3. WHO WE SHARE IT WITH
We only share your information as needed to provide our services, with your consent, or where the law requires it. Depending on the services you use, we share it with:
- laboratories that process your tests
- our practice management and client portal provider
- our online store, payment, email and document storage providers
- our supplement dispenser, for delivery of your order
- your GP or other practitioners, if you ask us to, or in an emergency.
Each provider receives only the information it needs and is required to keep it secure and confidential.
4. OVERSEAS STORAGE, DISCLOSURE AND SECURITY
Some of our providers store or process information outside Australia. Our client records system, and our online store, payment, email and document storage providers, hold data in the United States and Canada. Some laboratories also send specific panels to partner laboratories in the United States. We choose providers that use encryption and contractual privacy protections. By signing our Service Agreement, or by ticking the consent box before checkout on our website, you consent to this overseas storage and disclosure. Where you consent, the overseas provider may not be bound by Australian privacy law and Australian Privacy Principle 8.1 may not apply. If you don't consent, contact us before starting services.
Our records are encrypted, protected by two-factor authentication, and accessible only to Optimum Testing practitioners and, where needed to run their services, our providers.
5. HOW LONG WE KEEP IT
We keep adult health records for at least seven years after your last contact with us. For clients under 18, we keep records until they turn 25. After that, we securely delete or destroy them.
6. ACCESSING AND CORRECTING YOUR INFORMATION
You can ask to see, or to correct, the information we hold about you. Email info@optimumtesting.com.au. We will respond within 30 days. If we refuse a request, we will tell you why in writing.
7. MARKETING
We only send marketing emails if you have agreed to receive them. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, or you can email us to opt out.
8. COMPLAINTS
If you have a concern about your privacy, email our Privacy Officer at info@optimumtesting.com.au. We will respond within 30 days.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact:
- the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner: oaic.gov.au, 1300 363 992

9. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We will update this policy when our practices or providers change. The current version is always on our website.
